The Chicago Cubs have signed Danny Descalso

The Chicago Cubs have signed Danny Descalso per multiple reports.

Descalso will be a nice piece for the Cubs to have while Russell is serving his suspension. Last season he posted a OBP of .353 with an average of .238 at the plate. Descalso is a lifetime .240 hitter and he does not play the best defense, but I do expect him to be a decent backup for the Cubs when Russell comes back.
