I came up with this weak title because of how sad I was last night. The sadness then turned into anger. I really felt like punching a hole in my wall because my favorite baseball team didn’t win a game. It really do be like that sometimes.
It sucks. It really does. You could tell that the team didn’t want it at all. This wasn’t the “We Never Quit” Cubs, this was the “We can’t work counts or hit the ball” Cubs. I guess you could say they did quit then. Behind Jon Lester’s fire, the Cubs couldn’t figure out how to hit the ball. You literally have Big Jon ready to run through a brick wall, and you can’t even get a hit for him? Not even a good AB? I seriously only remember seeing 1 or 2 well worked counts by Cubs hitters. It was just a poor performance for everyone at the plate.
What’s even worse for the Cubs was that Wrigley was BUMPING. Every Lester strikeout was insane. The KB throw out. Willy’s walks. The crowd gave them every chance they could to hype them up for the next inning. The Cubs just couldn’t feed off of the crowds energy, which is odd because they’ve been doing it since 2015. It makes them look bad and it makes me sad. It’s a negative correlation.
I’m mad, ladies and gentlemen. I’m pissed off. I want revenge. This wasn’t the season we wanted, which is why we should just forget it. I say the MLB just skips the rest of the playoffs and does a lottery for the winner. Who cares? I’m ready for 2019. Give me Bryce Harper. Give me a healthy Yu Darvish. Give me 2016 MVP Kris Bryant. I’m positive that this team will be back in 2019. I don’t know who’s coming (please be Bryce), and I don’t know who’s going. This offseason is going to be huge for our guy Theo. It’s his league. Cubs 2019 World Series Champs. NL MVP Bryce Harper. NL Cy Yu Darvish. Let’s do it.
(p.s. I’m still sad and I will be until the end of the playoffs)
