I know it’s been a while and we don’t have a reason why. We’ve just been dead along with the Cubs. Just go with that. But who really cares? All that matters is that we’re back in business.
We kind of came in at a bad time. The Cubs just lost their tiebreaker game against the Brewers yesterday and that means they’ll be in the Wild Card game today. It sucks. The Brewers deserved it 20 times more than we did, so props to them. It didn’t even hurt to be honest. The Brewers won the NL Central. OK? It seems like people forgot how good this team is. 4th straight playoff appearance. 3 straight NLCS appearances. 1 World Series. Who cares who won the division? Let’s see who shows out when it matters.
I need to hype myself up by writing this. I’ll try to help you guys out too. I don’t mean to be selfish.
Alright ladies and gentlemen, it’s the Wild Card game. We’ve done this before in Pittsburgh. Things were a little different back then though. We don’t have Jake anymore and we’re not facing the Pirates. Kyle Schwarber was also fat back then. This time we’re playing the Rockies. Coors. Just kidding. This one’s in Wrigley.
I don’t know much about the Rockies. All I know is that they’ve had a great season and have a pretty good Twitter account. Kyle Freeland will get the nod tonight for the Rockies. I did some research and came to the conclusion that this guy is decent. He’s 17-7 with a 2.85 ERA this season and is 6-0 in his last 7 starts. I see some problems though. The dude is 25 years old, making his 1st playoff appearance, AND pitching on short rest. That’s brutal, Colorado. The Rockies have some hot bats though. Arenado, Blackmon, and Story could all kill the Cubs if we’re not careful. This isn’t Coors though. Plus this is a road game for them, and their away record isn’t very pleasing to look at.
It’s really the Cubs time now. You’ve got vet Jon Lester on the bump tonight. He hasn’t thought about this game once all day. Stone cold. atCubs haven’t put out the lineup yet but you know it’s going to be the best 9. Wrigley better be rocking. No fighting in the bleachers. This is a team game and we’re all a team. Everybody In. The offense needs to pop off tonight because I KNOW YOU KNOW WE KNOW how to ride in October. We’re not new to this. I’m convinced that if we win this game, we can take it all the way to the end. Feed me the Brewers. We know how to ride. They don’t. They need to play us in the NLDS because Cubs fans keep their lights on. It’s Wrigley North.
Seriously though. One game at a time. Everyone do their job because Everybody’s In. It’s Theo’s League. We ride in October. Rockies then the Brewers. CUBS IN 1, CUBS IN 3, CUBS IN 4, CUBS IN 4! IDC WHO WE PLAY.
