1 3B Jason Vosler– 2-4, one single, one double

2 SS Ryan Court– 1-4, RBI single

3 SP Alec Mills– 5 innings pitched, three earned runs, one walk, eight strikeouts

The Iowa Cubs are now 42-71 this season

Tennessee Smokies 2, Jackson Generals 1

Top Three Performers

1 SP Duncan Robinson– 6 innings pitched, five hits allowed, one earned run, two walks, seven strikeouts

2 SS Zack Short– 1-4, one two run home run

3 RP Jake Stinnett– 1 inning pitched, one hit allowed, sixth save of the season

The Smokies are now 56-57 overall, and 20-23 in the second half

Myrtle Beach Pelicans 3, Winston-Salem Dash 6

Top Three Performers

1 CF D.J. Wilson– 1-4, one RBI

2 LF Zach Davis– 1-4 one double, one run scored

3 2B Yeiler Peguero– 1-3, one run scored

The Pelicans are now 50-64 overall, and 16-28 in the second half

South Bend Cubs 5, Bowling Green Hot Rods 4

Top Three Performers

1 LF Jose Gutierrez– 1-4, one home run, two RBI’s

2 SP Erling Moreno– 6.2 innings pitched, five hits allowed, no runs allowed, two walks, four strikeouts

3 DH Delvin Zinn– 1-3, two RBI’s

The South Bend Cubs are now 54-59 overall, and 20-24 in the second half.

 

The Cubs Minor League Player of the Day is Tennessee Smokies starting pitcher Duncan Robinson. Robinson went six innings, allowing five hits, giving up one earned run, two walks, and striking out seven.

Seven is his most strikeouts in a start since June 10th, when he struck out 11 in just six innings. This is also his third start this season with 7 or more strikeouts.
