Brandon Hyde was ejected because Willson Contreras did not tell the ump “Thank You”

Chicago Cubs bench coach, Brandon Hyde, was ejected today because Willson Contreras did not tell the umpire “Thank You.”

Contreras stated that he asked the ump for timeout and the ump got upset that he did not say thank you after time was granted. Willson turned to the dugout to ask for help, which resulted in Brandon Hyde getting ejected. “It all happened because I asked for timeout and apparently I did not thank him.”

Willson also said that the umpire was saying stuff to him (Contreras) that should not be said. “He said something to me that I did not think he needed to say. I’m here because I earned my spot here. I just didn’t appreciate what he said.” Willson would not tell reporters what the umpire said.
