We all know about the championship hangover. Every champion gets them. Even the Chicago Cubs. But there’s one guy who thinks his team is immune to the infamous championship hangover.
A few days ago, Astros’ pitcher, Dallas Keuchel, was asked about the possibility of Houston having a World Series hangover in 2018. His response is what put a dagger in Cubs fan’s hearts.
“We’re not the Cubs,” Keuchel said. “I firmly believe we have better players.”
Ok, buddy. Calm down.
Not going to lie, I was a little bit triggered when I read this. Since when is 3 straight NLCS appearances a huge hangover? I’ll admit the 2017 Cubs were not who we expected them to be but, THREE STRAIGHT NLCS APPEARANCES.
I also don’t know why he had to put the Cubs on blast. He hasn’t pitched against the Cubs since 2013, and there is no Cubs/Astros rivalry whatsoever. Until now.
Just know we won’t forget your Cy Young hangover.
