One year ago tonight, the Cubs made history by winning their first World Series in 108 years.

It’s so confusing. Is it today? Is it tomorrow? Who cares. The Cubs won the World Series a year ago tonight, and what a ride it’s been.

I remember the day of Game 7. I didn’t go to school because obviously I had to prepare for the game. I sat in my chair about 10 minutes before game time, and in a blink I see Kluber throwing the first pitch of the game. It just happened so fast. Then you got Dexter Fowler, Javy, David Ross, and you think it’s a sure win. All of a sudden, the Indians start picking at our lead. Chapman comes in, and you think you’re set. Nope. Bam. Rajai Davis goes deep.

At this point, I was rattled. I didn’t say anything at all. I punched my wall and that was it. Thought we had no momentum. Chapman takes over the next inning. Lights out. Then, rain started to fall, and the game went into a delay.

Who knows what Jason Heyward actually said in the locker room. Who knows who was crying who didn’t believe. Again, who cares. Ben Zobrist drives in Almora to take the lead, but don’t forget about Miguel Montero. Miggy drives in Rizzo to take a 2 run lead.

And the rest is history.

If you want to watch the full Game 7, and I mean, all 5 hours of it, Here you go.
