The Cubs are playing a very critical series versus the Brewers, and it appears Milwaukee will be without their two best relievers for the first game.
Corey Knebel and Anthony Swarzak have been the top choices in the Brewers bullpen, but they have pitched in consecutive outings leaving them unavailable versus the Cubs.
The Cubs and Brewers square off tonight in a four game series that could easily decide who wins the NL Central. Right now the Cubs magic number is at 8 games, so if the Cubs sweep the Brewers they will clinch, but if the Brewers sweep the Cubs they take the lead in the NL Central. After this series the Cubs take on the Cardinals in a three game series, and then they play the Reds to end their regular season. If the Cubs split this weekend I believe the Cubs will easily win the Central.
Tonight’s pitching matchup is Jake Arrieta vs. Zach Davies
