Red Sox acquired OF Rajai Davis from Athletics in exchange for prospect OF Rafael Rincones.

Who’s Rajai Davis? Oh yeah, the guy who hit the game tying homer in Game 7 of the World Series. Now he’s heading to Boston. Davis is only batting .233 with 18 RBIs, and 5 homers in Oakland. He’s hoping to change that around with the Red Sox. In his career, he is batting .264 with 371 RBIs. The bad side of this for the Red Sox is that Rajai Davis is 36, and they’re giving up a prospect.

As for the A’s who are in rebuild mode, they get a young one. Rincones, who is only 18 years of age, is batting .258 in the minors. He also has 19 RBIs, and 1 homer in less than 200 at bats. Young guy, plus it doesn’t hurt the Athletics.
