News came out yesterday that Chicago Cubs shortstop, Addison Russell, will be returning sooner than we thought.
Addison Russell stated that he will be out for another week and a half at the most. Russell joined the Cubs for their road trip, and started taking grounders and live batting practice yesterday. Addison also said that his foot is “feeling more like a right foot, then again you don’t want to jump the gun. In the next few days we are definitely going to monitor it even more, but we are climbing the ladder, and now we’re getting closer.”
Many fans are wanting to know who will start at shortstop when Russell gets back. It is being said that they will go back to starting Russell, but I would not be surprised to see Baez get some reps at second and move the struggling Ben Zobrist to the bench.
