Rockies acquire Jonathan Lucroy from Rangers in exchange for PTBNL.

The Texas Rangers have moved one of their top trade pieces in catcher Jonathan Lucroy. Lucroy will be headed to the Colarodo Rockies per multiple reports.

The Basics: Jonathan Lucroy has posted a .242 batting average in 281 at bats so far this year. Lucroy has also posted a .635 OPS with four homers and 27 RBI’s. He will be a rental for the Rockies as he will become a free agent at the end of the year.

How Lucroy Can Help: Jonathan can be a huge help behind the dish for the Rockies. The Rockies don’t have any great catchers, so this acquisition will help them behind the plate. The Rockies are 60-45 this year and they currently have a wildcard place locked up, and this acquisition might really help them down the stretch.

The Return: Jon Heyman states that the Rangers will be getting a player to be announced later for Lucroy.
