The Boston Red Sox’s decided to make a huge move as they went out and got a great 3B/utility player in Núñez. Currently this year Eduardo is batting a whopping .307 with 4 homers and 31 RBI’s. The 30 year old can be a huge help to the Sox’s as they look to finish first in the AL East, and make a World Series run. Currently, the Sox’s are 55-46 and they are ahead of the Yankees by 1.5 games.
Núñez is owed $1.5 million for the remainder of this year, and then he will become a free agent. Per Rosenthal “The Red Sox’s can still add a reliever and stay comfortably under luxury-tax threshold.”
Who is headed the other way
Headed the other way will be two pitching prospects in Shaun Anderson and Gregory Santos. Anderson, who is at High A, has a 3.99 ERA on the year. 17 year old Santos has posted a 0.90 ERA in DSL this year (30 IP).
